hi all
I have a hurt in my neck- but I cannot locate where it is coming from!
It is radiating down into the left shoulder
Because the neck is so clicky I darent rotate it about too much, incase I end up collecting rain in me ear!
Will it go away?
Is there something other than the horrid spongey neck things to support a hurty neck?

Dear Jenni - I can't believe this has happened on top of everything else. I can't offer any advice on support but the memory foam orthopaedic pillows are very good for when you are resting. I wouldn't be surprised if all the stress and tension you have been going through has contributed to this. Did you manage to get a new hospital appointment sorted out? Take care.

I have two collapsed discs in my neck which give me a painful neck because my nerve gets trapped and sends the pain and pins and needles down my left shoulder Jenni. I don't know if you can do this but to release the nerve I try to tuck my chin into my chest and hold it for as long asd I can. Not easy and sometimes it works, sometimes not! YES I'VE CHANGED, PAIN DOES THAT TO PEOPLE.

Hi Jenni, have no real answers, but know how you feel!!! My neck and shoulder started to give me pain about 5 weeks ago, and hasnt got any better. Mine is much worse at night, as soon as I move I get a sharp shooting pain which makes me shout, much to my husbands annoyance!! Had appt with rheumy, just coincidence, on the third week of it, but no suggestions from them. Hope it gets better, you have enough to deal with as it is, love x BARBARA

((( Jenni ))) I suffer with my neck and I know how much it hurts and how draining it is. I tend to use a hot water bottle, a heated wheat bag which goes round the neck and a V shaped pillow and a memory foam pillow. I used muscle relaxant tabs as well as my muscles tense up which add to the pain.
Hope you get an improvement soon.
Hugs

Hello Jenni, you poor love with another painful problem. I can only suggest the warm wheat bag or a tens. Do you think that you should get it looked at by the Doc. You know all that you have been through and the drugs that you were given at the hospital and having to be resusitated you may have been damaged and there maybe something that can be fixed. It may not be the RA causing it and I know you are sick of being messed about but I m concerned about all the things that you put up with. Love Glenys x

Jenni,
You don't need this with all the other stuff in your life.
Have you tried your Wheat Heat bag, alternating with a Cool Pack? This works for me.

Hi Jenni,
On top of everything else, you really could do without this. Can't help out here, but agree the wheat bag sounds like a good idea.
Hope the pain eases off soon,
Love,

I go along with what Glenys says...... get your neck checked by a Dr. When I had an unstable neck/subluxed C3 vertebrae onto C4/broken back, call it what you will, I didn't have that much pain and yet the consequences could have been major, had I tripped or fallen. Any pain coming from your neck ought to be investigated. RA can make your spine unstable. Hopefully its not as bad as that, but I wouldn't take the risk. Carol
